CMA linear units are translator motion units. They can be used to extend the working area of robots. The drive of the linear unit is integrated in the robot control as a 7th and 8th interpolated axis. It can also be used as a simple robot positioner to allow painting on different stations; the position is recorded within the painting program so the movement can be done automatically.

The linear units can be composed of one or more travel axes, in this way it is possible to paint pieces at 360° without the need to rotate parts in front of the robot.
The linear units can be used for the movement of suspended robots, with servo-controlled drive or with pneumatic movement in several positions.
Linear positioners are also part of this series, in which case the limited movement only serves to keep the robot running without interpolation in two or more positions, the movement can be either electric or pneumatic for small strokes. The robot automatically manages it.
